Migrations That Don't Break Your Business
Cloud migration projects fail — or significantly exceed budget and timeline — most often because of inadequate planning, not technical limitations. Unknown application dependencies, undocumented data flows, performance assumptions that don't hold in the cloud, and cutover windows that weren't validated all combine to turn migrations into crises.
Our migration methodology starts with a rigorous discovery phase: mapping every application, every dependency, every data flow, and every integration before a single workload moves. This produces a migration sequence and rollback plan that makes the actual migration execution highly predictable — and recoverable if anything unexpected occurs.
The 6 R's of Cloud Migration
Rehost (Lift & Shift)
Move as-is to cloud. Fast, low risk. Best for legacy apps where re-architecting isn't justified.
Replatform
Minor optimizations during migration — e.g., moving databases to RDS without code changes.
Refactor
Re-architect for cloud-native services. Higher investment, maximum long-term benefit.
Repurchase
Replace with SaaS equivalent. Often the right move for aging CRM, ERP, or HR systems.
Retain
Keep on-premises for now. Not everything should migrate — we'll tell you what shouldn't.
Retire
Decommission. Migration is also an opportunity to eliminate technical debt.
